Effects Of Raspberry Ketone On Lipolysis & Fatty Acid Oxidation

This study was performed to understand Raspberry Ketone and its effects its effects on the expression and the secretion of adiponectin – lipolysis and fatty acid oxidation in 3T3-LI (cells which are sensitive to lipogenic hormones and drugs).

An immunoassay showed that 10uM of Raspberry ketone increased the amount of glycerol in adipose (from fatty acid separation) three-fold and increased fatty acid oxidation – while suppressing triglyceride accumulation (an ester derived from glycerol and fatty acids) indicating increased fatty acid lipolysis. After 4 days of 10uM – expression and secretion of adiponectin were highly increased in the same fat cells.

Raspberry ketone has been shown to suppress fat accumulation while increasing fat burning indicators, such as norepinephrine induced lipolysis and lipoprotein lipase translocation.
